Producing banger after banger over the past decade, prominent artists such as Calvin Harris, DJ Snake, and David Guetta have taken the electronic/dance music industry by storm and left festival audiences in utter awe.
While there are plenty of other names that have come and gone ever since the explosion of this genre in the late 2000s, there’s one English DJ/producer that you might want to keep tabs on. Co-signed by Lee Foss, Groove Armada, Jamie Jones, and Richy Ahmed, Croydon’s own Deeper Purpose is undoubtedly one to watch.
Background
Born in the London borough of Croydon, Stephen Galloway, AKA Deeper Purpose, has been spinning discs and setting the vibe for large crowds for over ten years. Since his beginnings, the London-based DJ/producer has secured residences at the XOYO (now in his fifth year of playing for them) and Egg (where he has played for another six years) nightclubs in London.
Deeper Purpose has also played to crowds in venues the likes of Fabric and Studio 338 and at festivals such as Camp EDC in Las Vegas and We Are FSTVL. In 2022, Galloway has visited venues across Europe and the United States, mesmerizing crowds with his tech house-influenced sound infused with incredible vocal hooks.
Musical Resumé & Accomplishments
On Spotify, the London-based producer has racked up tons of plays and a following as of late, with six songs, including “Party Diva,” “The Slap,” “Demons,” and “Stop Trippin’,” having crossed the 300,000 plays threshold.
Deeper Purpose’s 2020 single Elevate is his top-streamed song, with over 4.6 million streams on the streaming service. He’s also released numerous tracks with prestigious labels, such as Repopulate Records, Catch & Release, Saved, and Insomniac Records.
His remix of “Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good)” by Piero Perupa topped the charts as the #1 Beatport Tech House track of the year on Spinnin’ Deep, the world-renowned Dutch record label. Safe to say, many of his songs have shown up in our Electric State Radio streams.
His 2022 Spring and Fall Tours, which have included historically electric venues such as Ibiza Rocks, Camp EDC in Las Vegas, and the Crssd Fest in San Diego, have been resounding successes for the Englishman, and he’ll undoubtedly be riding this wave of mainstream appraisal into 2023.

Deeper Purpose is scheduled to perform at Halloween 2022 Gorgon City in Las Vegas on October 29th. He’ll be joined by Moon Boots to make this spooky time of the year a memorable one for electronic music enthusiasts.

Considering his success in the European and American scenes, you can bet Deeper Purpose will continue making a name for himself. We expect to see him perform at the most prestigious electronic music venues and clubs all across North America and South America in the years to come.

This year’s jam-packed lineup was no different, with excellent performances across all three stages at the Waterfront Park in San Diego.
