Inspiration to get into EDM?

Honestly my biggest inspiration to do EDM is the fact that I could make all the music by myself and not have to rely on anyone else. I used to be in a lot of bands, then I saw Pretty Lights and realized I could make the music I wanted to without a band or anyone's help. Also watching Skrillex go from being in a band to doing his solo skrillex project was inspirational.

Why did you want to become a DJ?

Well I wouldn't say I wanna be a DJ, I wanna be a musician, I am a terrible DJ, I can only put together songs I made cuz i know how they work and I have the sessions to take them apart and mix them together, I just see the EDM scene as a place I can be a solo songwriter who can create these sonic worlds

Favorite Genre prior to EDM? Emotional similarity to genres?
Electric State
Hardcore, Metal, Post hardcore, Deathcore, and Post Rock, Hardcore is bands like Stick to your Guns, Drain, Turnstile, From First to last, Black Dahlia Murder, I love it cuz a breakdown is so similar to a Drop. Also post rock like bands such as Explosions In The Sky and 65daysofStatic and stuff, I love the dreamy adventure and emotion to it.

A tip for someone experiencing a creative block?
Electric State
Remember to have fun even if you are writing a shitty song, cuz it is a blessing to be able to create and an awesome way to spend your time, So even if you are writing something that sucks, be grateful for being able to spend time creating.

Do you plan on dedicating the rest of your life to the industry?

I don't see it any other way, My life will always be about music, I don't know anything else lol

Continue building this story narrative I’ve built with my music and expanded upon on my new album Ghost Ride The Spaceship. This story of a wannabe spaceman will keep appearing on subsequent albums and EPs. I also want to continue playing shows across the country.

I suffer from some common mental health issues and routine is one of the only things that saves me.

Touring, releasing music, Teaching music. Setting up a business to help people create, I have a big passion for teaching it’s very cathartic to me

Someone who puts themself on display, hoping that other people can relate to the things they have felt or experienced

I do this often when I remind myself how grateful I am for everything in my life, Even the bad things. Gratitude is something that has saved me and pulled me from some pretty dark places.

Who inspired you - not an artist someone you personally know?
Electric State
My ma has always been a non stop font of unconditional love and without it i probably wouldn't be here, she taught me what unconditional love is and i try to relay that feeling to everyone i know. Also big shout out to my “city dad” Marc Fish, He taught me about groove and taste and what good hip hop/ production is.
